On January 26, USAID and other U.S.-funded organizations suspended their support for non-military programs in Ukraine for a 90-day audit period. This affects CUKR.CITY, an independent media organization based in Sumy - a city of 250,000 people located just 30 kilometers from the Russian border.

Since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, Sumy has faced constant military threats while maintaining its resilience and cultural identity. Our work has been crucial in keeping the local community informed and united during these challenging times.

Critical Situation

Due to a temporary suspension of U.S. funding programs for audit purposes, CUKR.CITY faces a significant challenge. While we've built a sustainable model combining grant funding with community support, the sudden halt of 60% of our budget threatens our ability to continue our essential work.
